:: Hastrman HC
Hastrman
HC is a front mounted Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR)
with a split counterlung design. It can be used as a
primary breathing apparatus, or it can be also worn as
a Redundant Underwater Breathing Apparatus (RUBA) with
an open circuit setup or another rebreather (i.e. Golem
BP60Mod). As all Hastrman rebreathers, it can be fitted
with a scrubber and electronics configuration appropriate
for the misson requirements. |
| On
this picture Hastrman HC is configured with a standard
cave diving rig, steel doubles, worn on divers back.
The dilluent is supplied from the back mounted tanks
by the way of an auto-add valve. The scrubber ("The
Pipe") and a 13cu. ft. oxygen tank are waist
mounted. Here, the O2 tank is mounted on divers right
side, but it can be moved to the left hip if the mission
requirements are to Do It Correctly. The scrubber is
fastened horizontaly to divers waist belt. It also can
be relocated vertically to either side. The diver chose
to use "The Valve" DSV
for this particular mission. |

First Hastrman HC
trials at one of the EDL CzN/A secret facilities. Note,
that at the time the configuration was not streamlined. |
| The
split counterlung design of Hastrman HC provides optimal
breathing charactersitcs, reduced WOB, and increased
scrubbing efficiency*. The
counterlung started life as an old horse-collar BC in
used sports equipment store. The single circular bladder
was split into two and the breathing hose ports were
installed. The hose ports are 1 1/2" swimming pool
fittings found in any pool supply store. The hoses are
made from sturdy and flexible sump pump kit and port
T assemblies are PVC piping. All these parts come from
your local hardware store. |

The
split counterlungs are front mounted in the same location
as divers lungs.

its ability to deliver requested results on
extremely compressed timetable. |
